About the Show

Maggie Hurley: For this exhibit, Maggie turned her gift for painting whimsical animals and rolling seascapes toward the more serious theme of climate change. Her work for this exhibit features humpback whales swimming down streets of the Bay Area. Maggie’s delicately wrought details draw the viewers in and her sense of humor expressed through painting wins them over.

Sherrod Blankner: Sherrod Blankner paints buildings that have decayed from what they once were. Her urban scenes show factories that were once bustling now given over to ivy. Farmhouses isolated on suburban streets and cabins built long ago show her sense of time passing. Sherrod is a painter’s painter, and her glowing canvases showcase oil beautifully.

Ten percent of sales donated to 350.org, the leading activists for climate change.
