Well, we are here. We have occupied 2000 4th Street, Berkeley. This is where we place our stake in the ground, and proudly fly our flag.
We are a collection of artists, diverse in many ways, as witnessed by our many artistic voices. Beyond that we are multi-fasceted individuals with complicated lives, each with agendas and intentions, as well as expectations and assumptions. Together we will discover strength and camaraderie, shared interests and opposing beliefs. Our hopes are high, as we work towards a common goal: opening our doors to the public.
Excitement in the group is bubbling. Signs are being made, studio space is being worked out, art is finding its way to the walls. We have an open airy space with tall windows, in a beautiful shiny new building. As we each spend time in the space doing some creative work, or figuring out our display, we're encouraged by the number of passers-by who peek in our windows, anxious for us to open. Friends from the old neighborhood have been stopping by to wish us well, and we've had fun discovering our new business neighbors (have you tried Sketch ice cream yet? yum!). Below are photos of our new space as we settle in.
Plans for the Grand Opening on October 27th are coming to fruition. Besides live music and prizes for costumes, we'll have tarot card readings and perhaps a surprise or two. We'll be starting early in the day, so we hope you have time to check us out. Here's an invitation... to receive one of your very own, just join our mailing list!
